FACILITATOR, PROGRAMME DEVELOPER, COACH AND TRAINER WORKING AT THE INTERSECTION OF ART, LEARNING AND COMMUNITY PRACTICE.

My path

I trained in art therapy and art pedagogy at HKS Ottersberg in Germany.

I spent ten years working in psychiatric, psychosomatic, and psychotherapeutic settings, alongside teaching art in my own studio.

After moving to South Africa in 2009, my work shifted into community-based contexts, where I began focusing on how creative practice can support children and youth in environments shaped by adversity.

I founded the Butterfly Art Project, where I developed training programmes for educators and artists. Today, hundreds of trained facilitators are working in communities across South Africa and beyond.

Since 2022, I have focused on consulting, training in art therapeutic practice, and supporting facilitators and organisations across Africa.

I work with educators, artists, and organisations across Africa to develop healing art programmes that support mental well-being and resilience in community-based contexts.

My work is rooted in over 25 years of experience in facilitation, programme management, and training, with a focus on practical, sustainable approaches.
